With the increasing demand for comprehensive talents in the era,STEAM education is born,STEAM education can cultivate students’ ability to solve problems with interdisciplinary knowledge and skills and the ability to cooperate and innovate.At the same time,China’s mathematics curriculum is difficult and practical,resulting in many students’ resistance to mathematics,but STEAM’s educational philosophy can create an open situation and let students use mathematics to solve practical problems,students can break through The barriers of disciplines are exchanged and created,which promotes the cultivation of students’ mathematical literacy,comprehensive ability and innovative ability.The research questions in this paper are(1)How to design an origami and mathematics expansion course based on the STEAM concept?(2)How to specifically design and implement each part of the origami and mathematics expansion course?(3)Does the course have an impact on students’ interest in mathematics and origami,and related abilities?In this paper,the author first establishes the concept and framework of curriculum design.In addition to the connotation and concept of STEAM education,the author also joins the requirements of China’s core mathematics literacy and situational education as theoretical support and guidance.After establishing the framework,the author designed the development process of the course,and selected origami as a carrier to refine and explain each step of the course.In the course of the course design,the author also elaborated and analyzed the impact of origami culture and origami on mathematics education.Then the author implemented the course in the mathematics development class and got the following results and conclusions:(1)The author puts forward the design mode by studying the connotation and framework of STEAM education theory and combining the requirements of China’s core literacy with mathematics and the basic theory and operational significance of situational education.(2)Based on the design model of the previous study,the author selects and refines the material,and designs nine steps and detailed contents.(3)After the implementation of the curriculum,in mathematics,most studentsthink that their interest in mathematics has improved,and the curriculum has an improved ability to use mathematics to solve practical problems.In the case of origami,most students think that their origami technology has improved and changed their understanding of origami.In terms of the STEAM concept,all students feel the interdisciplinary nature of the course,and most students believe that the cooperation in the course is smoother.
