With the development of the times,STEAM education came into being.STEAM education advocates putting students in realistic and complex problem situations,using the knowledge of mathematics and other disciplines to actively solve practical problems in a group cooperation manner,and in the process of cultivating students' comprehensive practical ability and innovative awareness.However,due to the influence of traditional teaching concepts in China,some elementary school students 'initiative in mathematics learning is reduced,and the real problem situation of STEAM education can increase students' interest in learning,and students can get new experience in the process of practice.This article first analyzes and clarifies the relationship between STEAM education and primary school mathematics teaching design and the relationship between the two through literature research.Then through a questionnaire survey of mathematics teachers in many elementary schools in H District of Xiamen City,and the third and sixth grade students of Y and W primary schools,the following conclusions were obtained: First-line teachers have the abilities and awareness of STEAM education practice in practical teaching,and have a good understanding of STEAM Education has a certain understanding,but due to the lack of teachers in practice and the lack of resources such as instructional design,it is impossible to practice;students have accumulated a lot of problem-solving experience in the course of life,and more than half of the students have a greater degree in mathematics learning For the interest of teachers,teachers should be good at starting from students 'existing experience,creating real problem situations,inspiring students to learn initiative,and improving students' problem-solving ability.Then,according to the five elements of STEAM education,analyze the elements of STEAM education included in the content of elementary school mathematics teaching,and then combine the case to illustrate the process of integrating the five elements into the design of elementary school mathematics teaching and its effect on student development.Through analysis,the author has the following suggestions:(1)Teachers should be good at discovering the scientific knowledge implied in the textbooks,and cultivate students' ability to use multidisciplinary knowledge and different scientific reasoning methods to solve practical problems;(2)Teachers should continue to improve in practice To learn all kinds of technical skills by oneself,only in the teaching process can students be guided to solve problems with various technical resources,and enhance students' application consciousness and hands-on practical ability;(3)Teachers should create engineering problems with complex problem situations before teaching.Give appropriate guidance to students in the process of solving problems,so that students can continuously improve their solutions and optimally solve practical problems;(4)Teachers should grasp the two characteristics of humanity and innovation of art,and let students base on actual life.The artistic elements are creatively designed to improve students' sense of innovation.Finally,through the summary of these four suggestions and STEAM education two types of education pathway design related teaching design cases.
