With the development of the popularization of higher education,the community pay close attention to the quality of higher education.University teachers are the main force of talent cultivation,especially the new teachers,whose career development has an important influence on the future of higher education.New teachers in universities are in the early stage of their career development,doing a good career planning is of great benefit to their career development.However,at present,the researches on the career planning in the field of education focus on university students,while the researches on university teachers,especially the new teachers,is rare.Therefore,this study focuses on the new teachers in universities from the perspective of empirical research to understand their current career planning status and problems,and give corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to promote their career development.Based on the current situation of career planning of new teachers in universities,and referring to the existing research results,this study divides the career planning structure of new teachers in universities into three dimensions: career exploration,career decision-making,career action and monitoring,and the three dimensions contain seven factors in all.Taking the students who have participated in the pre-service training of new teachers in Shanghai municipal universities as the survey objects,through the statistical analysis of the questionnaire,the current situation and existing problems of the career planning of theirs are preliminarily understood.In order to strengthen the depth of research,the interview method is used to further explore the factors restricting the career planning of new teachers in universities,so as to provide suggestions to improve their career planning.The main factors that hinder the career planning of new teachers include individual teachers and organization of universities.In the personal aspects of teachers,it mainly includes: lack of understanding of the organization,lack of comprehensive understanding of the profession of teachers,lack of theoretical knowledge of career planning,and professional skills for career development need tobe improved;in the aspect of the universities' organization it mainly includes:inadequate material security,imperfect system and inadequate emotional support.Based on the research results and research objectives,the author puts forward countermeasures and suggestions to promote the career planning of new teachers in universities.In terms of individual teachers,it is necessary to strengthen the understanding of the organization,improve the understanding of the profession of teachers,make up the theoretical knowledge of career planning,and improve the professional skills of career development;in the aspect of universities organization,they should increase material security,perfect system and supplement emotional support.
