Jean Jacques Rousseau is a very individual educator in the history of Western education.He was not educated but had a high level of literary talent.By reading the original work,we can easily find that Rousseau's philosophical thoughts focus on moral education,and sympathy education is an indispensable part of Rousseau's moral education,which has important guiding significance for people to re-recognize sympathy today.The sympathetic education thought can be traced to the book "Emile",which Rousseau made a clear and profound discussion in the fourth volume.The author started research from the book "Emile".On the one hand,it studies Rousseau's sympathy education thought,deeply analyzes the essence and connotation of his thoughts.On the other hand,the author reflects on the current state of education,and gives reference and enlightenment to the current moral education..Firstly,the author elaborates the background of Rousseau's sympathetic education thoughts.Rousseau spent his childhood in Geneva and experienced various things in France.Two different countries and different polities had a great influence on Rousseau.In his childhood,he had been wandering around in his youth.The violent displacement of middle-aged escapes allowed Rousseau to have a deep understanding of the human heart,society,and politics.It directly affected his educational thoughts;in the eighteenth century where Rousseau was located,the wind of corruption prevailed,and the church enslaved people's thoughts.The Renaissance exalted reason and ignored human emotions,so that Rousseau could not stop the grief and indignation in his heart.Rousseau's sympathetic education thoughts,like the same warmth,were injected into the cold society,but it was difficult to melt the indifference of the rulers.Rousseau's elaboration of sympathetic education is well-organized.Based on the text,the author makes a detailed analysis of Rousseau's sympathy education thought,including the connotation of sympathy,the principle of sympathy education and its psychological mechanism,the task of sympathy education,the implementation stageand the corresponding measures.Rousseau made a detailed exposition on sympathy education in the book "Emile".The three principles of self-love,compassion and sympathy education are the starting point for the author to study Rousseau's sympathy education.Rousseau made a clear explanation in the book.Rousseau hoped that people could transform their innate self-love into a sympathy for the survival of human beings at an appropriate stage.He hoped that sympathy could awaken the conscience of mankind,and people could have equal love with each other.Finally,the author makes a reflective summary of the advantages and disadvantages of Rousseau's sympathy education.Rousseau's sympathy education has an important influence on the medieval thoughts of the time and later in Europe.It inspired later thinkers who proposed their own understanding of sympathy and educational methods based on Rousseau's thoughts,such as Kant's critical sympathy.Every kind of thought not only has its shining point,but also has shortcomings.Rousseau's sympathy education thought also has the same phenomenon.In the third chapter,the author makes a reflective evaluation of the advantages and disadvantages of Rousseau's sympathetic education thought.At the same time,the author discusses the problems existing in China's sympathy education and the enlightenment of Rousseau's sympathy education thought to China's education.
