behavior, physical activity and BMI status of college students in Shanghai(the metropolitan city under the socialist system)and Hong Kong(the metropolitan city under the capitalist system).Secondly,it explores the relationship between social demographic factors, physical activity, static behavior time and BMI of college students in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and the differences between social demographic factors and static behavior time, physical activity amount and BMI in different residential areas. To provide scientific basis for further formulating intervention strategies and measures of static life health promotion, preventing and controlling the risk of overweight and obesity of College students.Research method:This study randomly selected 2,000 undergraduates from three Shanghai universities, including Shanghai Normal University,East China University of Technology, and five Hong Kong universities, including the University of Hong Kong and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.Among them,1,000 were from Shanghai and 1,000 from Hong Kong. The social demographic factors questionnaire was used to investigate the sex, age, grade, school and whether the only child was born in the two places;the body mass index(BMI)was calculated by measuring the height and weight of the students, and their grading(lean, normal, overweight and obese)was calculated by using the static behavior questionnaire. To investigate the static behavior time of college students in the two places on weekdays and weekends, and to investigate the frequency of one week, the cumulative time of each day and the total static behavior time of college students in the two places by using the International Physical Activity Scale.Descriptive statistics and chi-square test were used to analyze the status quo and differences of social demographic factors,BMI,static behavior and physical activity of college students in the two places.Multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation between static behavior and BMI,physical activity and BMI of college students in the two places, and a comparative analysis was made.Research findings:1 The Present Situation and Difference of Social Population Factors of College Students in Two Areas:(1)There are significant differences in gender, age, grade and school between Shanghai and Hong Kong(p<.05),but not in the percentage of only-child or not(P=.239);(2)The male ratio of college students in Shanghai(53.4%)is higher than that of female students in Hong Kong(51.4%);(3)The average age of college students in Hong Kong(20.7±5.4)The majority of Undergraduates in Shanghai are between 18 and 22 years old, mostly 19 and 20 years old, while most in Hong Kong are between 19 and 22 years old, with few undergraduates under 18 years old.(4)Fourthly,the majority of Shanghai undergraduates are freshmen(31.3%)and sophomores(41.7%).(5)Hong Kong undergraduates are more evenly distributed in all grades. The students interviewed in Shanghai and Hong Kong were evenly distributed in all schools.(6)Most of the students in Shanghai(64.8%)and Hong Kong(67.3%)were only children.2 Current Situation and Difference of Body Mass Index(BMI)of College Students in Two Areas:(1)There are significant differences in BMI index between Shanghai and Hong Kong students(P<.01);(2)BMI average index of Shanghai university students(22.75±3.09)is significantly higher than that of Hong Kong university students(20.72±1.87);(3)The proportion of overweight and obesity of Shanghai male university students is 92.9%,while that of Hong Kong male students is slightly higher than that of Hong Kong students(54.2%).(4)The proportion of female students in Shanghai is 86.2%,and that of female students in Hong Kong is 95.1%.3 The Present Situation and Difference of Static Behavior of College Students in Two Areas:(1)There were significant differences in static behavior and overall static behavior time between the two places(P<.01);(2)The overall static behavior time of Shanghai university students(4.71±1.96)was higher than that of Hong Kong university students(3.19 ± 1.43);(3)The static behavior time of pre-screen entertainment and learning was higher than that of Hong Kong university students(P <.01).(4)The leanness of Shanghai college students is inversely correlated with the time spent watching TV on weekdays and weekends, and positively correlated with the overall static behavior time;(5)The overweight and obesity of Shanghai college students are positively correlated with the time spent playing computer on weekdays, mobile phone on weekends and the overall static behavior time;(6)The overweight and obesity of Hong Kong college students are positively correlated with the time spent playing computer on weekdays and the overall static behavior time.Behavior time is positively correlated.4 Current Situation and Difference of Physical Activities of College Students in Two Areas:(1)There were significant differences in the days and times of various physical activity modes between the two places(P<.01);(2)The days and times of intensive physical activity in Hong Kong University(3.04±2.07)and(2.25±1.51)were significantly larger than those of Shanghai University students(2.88±1.96)and time(1.61±1.19);(3)The days of moderate physical activity of Shanghai University students(3.20±1.89)and time(2.47±1.55)were greater than the moderate physical activity days(3.06±2.06)and time(2.30±1.57)of Hong Kong College students;(4)The number of walking days per week(4.08±2.01)and the walking time per day(2.45±1.39)of Shanghai college students were also greater than that of Hong Kong college students(3.14±1.99)and time(2.29±1.53);(5)Moderate physical activity and walking days per week were positively correlated.(6)Overweight and obesity were negatively correlated with intense physical activity time per day, moderate physical activity time per day, walking days per week and walking time per day.(7)Overweight and obesity were negatively correlated with moderate physical activity time per day among Hong Kong College students.Research conclusionThe static behavior time of Shanghai university students is higher than that of Hong Kong University students, the intensive physical activity time of Shanghai university students is lower than that of Hong Kong University students, the middle and low intensity physical activity time of Shanghai university students is higher than that of Hong Kong University students, and the BMI index of Shanghai University Students is obviously higher than that of Hong Kong University students.Static behavior time, physical activity time and BMI were significantly correlated. It shows that the combination of low level physical activity and long-term static behavior patterns can increase the risk of overweight and obesity among college students. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Shanghai, Hong Kong, College students, static
