The junior high school graduation ceremony is a summary of the students' junior high school learning and an important life node in their growth process. However, there is still a serious phenomenon of “de-education” in the graduation ceremony of junior high school in China, including the unclear understanding of its meaning, the actual operation in the form, the low participation in related aspects, and the poor emotional experience of students.Based on this,it is necessary to study the "should" orientation and the "real" status of the junior high school graduation ceremony in order to improve and optimize the current junior high school graduation ceremony. This study is based on the perspective of ritual education and aims to explore the educational value of the junior high school graduation ceremony.Firstly, the thesis analyzes and discusses the specific components, characteristics, basic nature and educational value of the junior high school graduation ceremony from the perspective of “should be”.Then, using case study strategies, including on-site observation, participant interviews and questionnaire survey methods,an empirical study was conducted on the graduation ceremony of three ordinary public junior high schools in the city,in order to summarize their successful experiences and find their shortcomings. Then,on the basis of this, based on the gap between “should be” and“ actually ”,the relevant countermeasures and suggestions for improving the graduation ceremony of junior high school are proposed. The author believes that a complete and typical junior high school graduation ceremony should contain basic elements such as “theme”,“field”,“participant”,“procedure” and “experience”.A good graduation ceremony should have a sense of meaning,"participation" and "ceremony";by its nature, graduation ceremony as an educational ritual, with the educational attributes of "school culture","experiential learning" and "hidden curriculum";In other words, the graduation ceremony can play the functions of “enriching individual life experience”,“promoting individual self-identity” and “passing the core culture of the school”.Through the empirical investigation of the three case schools, the author found that the three case schools pay more attention to the graduation ceremony;the theme of the graduation ceremony has its own characteristics;the core elements of the ceremony are well reflected;the activities at the ceremony are rich in types. There is acertain amount of creativity;the satisfaction of the ceremony effect is high.At the same time, however, there are still some shortcomings in the graduation ceremony of the case school. For example, the understanding of the value of graduation ceremony is not enough, the preparation time is not enough, the participation of some subjects is not high, and the ritual procedures are also certain. The design and arrangement of the field has certain limitations. In view of the problems arising from the current junior high school graduation ceremony, the author suggests that schools should strive to raise awareness of the value of graduation ceremony;determine the theme of the student-based graduation ceremony;optimize the design and arrangement of the graduation ceremony;carefully design the graduation ceremony Relevant ceremonies and procedures;take measures to promote the substantive participation of relevant parties, and so on.
