Physics in senior middle school is a course which students generally feel difficult to learn.Although many students work very hard,the learning effects are not satisfactory.Therefore,to find the students' difficulties encountered in learning physics and analyze relevant causes of their occurrences so as to effectively improve the teaching efficiency is a realistic subject faced by every physics teacher.On the basis of understanding the current research situation on this topic from scholars at home and abroad,this research divides the difficulties of physics in senior middle schools into four major categories(difficulties in concepts,difficulties in laws,difficulties in experiments,and difficulties in exercises)through visiting senior middle schools' physics teachers and students in combination with the author's own practical experience.Meanwhile,the cause for each type of difficulties is analyzed,and the targeted strategies are put forward as follows: the research finds that the main causes of difficulties in concepts come from the following aspects: the characteristics of physical concepts,the inappropriate teaching methods of teachers,and the pre-concepts in the minds of students.Aiming at those causes,this thesis puts forward the corresponding targeted coping strategies----the Four-step Teaching Method(introducing-establishing-applying-linking);the main causes of difficulties in laws come from the following aspects: the characteristics of the physical law itself,the teacher's neglects in the progressive principle during the process of teaching,students' one-sided understanding of physical laws,and the lack of basic knowledge and skill reserve.Aiming at those causes,this thesis puts forward the targeted coping strategies----the Four-step Teaching Method(linking-exploring-summarizing);the main causes for the difficulties in experiments come from the following aspects: the larger difficulty span of physics experiments in junior and senior middle schools,the teacher's neglects in the importance of making experiments in teaching,and the lack or the backwardness of the experimental equipment in schools.Aiming at those causes,this thesis puts forward the targeted coping strategies: the intuitive strategy and the strategy of improving experiments;the main causes for the difficulties in exercises come from the following aspects: the questions in exercises are out-dated;the teachers have not consciously guided students in problem-solving mentality;the students' problem-solving methods are improper.Aiming at those causes,this thesis puts forward the targeted coping strategies: the strategy of step-by-step explanation and the exercise classes of flipping classroom;finally,on the basis of the cause analysis and coping strategies,this thesis makes an attempt to carry out the teaching design for each type of difficulties,expecting to provide many enlightenments and references for solving the teaching difficulties in physics.
