American New Character Education And Its Enlightenment To The Ideological And Political Education In Chinese Universities

In the 1980 s,after experiencing the moral crisis in American society and the critical inheritance of a series of moral schools,new character education came into being.The traditional character education began to return and flourished,and developed and formed a new character education on the basis of the traditional character education.The new character education aims at cultivating students' core values and forming moral consensus through various ways.It is a practical and operational moral education system.In the face of an open and pluralistic society,colleges and universities in our country shoulder the mission of building people by virtue.Through the concept of new character education in the United States,this paper produces different aspects,such as background,ideological connotation and evaluation,and so on.This paper makes an in-depth analysis and research on the new character education in the United States,and abstracts the development of the new character education in the United States.Through the study of this paper,it is hoped that the relevant countermeasures conducive to the development of new character education in China can be drawn from the present situation of new character education in the United States.This article is divided into four parts.The first part is the introduction,which introduces the purpose and significance of the study of character education in the United States and the research ideas and methods.The second chapter is the emergence and development of the new character education in the United States,through the concept,development process and background of character education.The third part is the ideological connotation and evaluation of the new character education in the United States,introduces the main contents of the thought of character education and its realization path,and analyzes the positive significance of the new character education in the United States and the shortcomings of the new character education in the United States.In the fourth part,it mainly analyzes the inspiration of the new character education in the United States for the development of the new character education in China,and draws lessons from the successful experience of the new character education in the United States,on the basis of combining the development needs of the new character education in China.We will effectively promote the development of new character education in China.General Secretary Xi Jinping placed high hopes on the ideological and political education of young people.General Secretary Xi Jinping once mentioned: "A decade of trees,a hundred years of trees,and the future of the motherland belong to the next generation.Doing good care for the next generation of work and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation."
