Teaching Management Research Based On Sakai Platform

The department of education proposed a ten years' development plan for education informationization during 2011 to 2020 for universities in the background of “Internet plus”.There are many problems that need to be addressed in traditional teaching in universities: single teaching method,low participation,poor performance in learning,difficulties in teaching management and examination affairs,low teaching efficiency and difficulty in collecting materials.The class orientated education is no longer suitable for increased demand of informationization requirement.The introduction or development of teaching management platform is in great demand and online teaching management platform becomes more and more popular.The most representative teching management platforms are Blackboard,Moodle,Drupal and Sakai.The paper selects widely accepted platform Sakai as research target concerning the cost and maintenance.The paper discusses teaching management in universities in the background of informationization.On the basis of large amount of references and case home and aboard,the author discusses the teaching management in Sakai exampled by “Global Forces in a Changing World”course.The paper mainly introduces the system architecture,main functions,curriculum tools,advantages and the feasibility of creating network teaching platform based on Sakai platform.Based on the theories of Informatica management and Network learning community,the paper explores the management mode of teaching based on Sakai platform on the basis of learning the characteristic and practical applications of Sakai platform,and analyzes the platform management.Finally,based on the curriculum,the feasibility and effectiveness of the practical research on the management of the Sakai platform course are illustrated.Through the interviews of teachers and students in the survey,it proved that compared with the traditional teaching mode,the effect of teaching management mode of Sakai teaching management platform for school improved teachers' teaching and students' learning.Simultaneously,Sakai provides a systematic environment for students,enhanced the ability of information management,raised the participation and improved the result.This paper provides a rich data support for the school's informatization construction and management,promotes the promotion of the Sakai platform,and provides an important case reference for the construction of information technology in colleges and universities.
