In the social background of Chinese women's high employment rate, most career women found it difficult to get effective balance between work activities and housework. As one of the most important members of the family, the elderly share d the daily household activities such as shopping or receiving children in the family,in order to balance the activities allocation in the family and maximize the utility of the household.Because of this, there was a significant difference between the family and the non-elderly family types in the activities allocation and the activities pattern. However,in most studies of household activities, the consideration of the elderly was only by taking the number of the elderly as family attributes, ignored the influence of the elderly in the decision-making process of the family activities, and there was no correctly analysis of the travel pattern and behavior decision of the members of such families.Paper chooses living with son generation of elderly family as the research object.Based on activity analysis and time geography, from the individual and the family dual perspective, study the elderly with members of the family interaction activity travel pattern.Firstly, using the data of Kunming residents' travel survey in 2011 as first-hand data, setting up a database of "elderly people's family travel" which live together with their descendants.A descriptive analysis was conducted on activity patterns from aspects of activity purpose, activity duration and travel time, travel mode and frequency.Secondly, the structural equation model was used to model the influence mechanism of the daily household activities of the elderly and the influence mechanism of the travel pattern of the family other members. It reveals the impact of family member on the elderly's activity travel pattern, the elderly's travel patterns to other family members and the interaction between the elderly and their members. The results show that the influence of the old people's housework patterns is mainly reflected in the time and frequency of travel, but not the duration of the housework activity. The pattern of household activities is not directly affected by the commuting activities of other members, but through the commuter activities of the members is the restriction of their own housework and the indirect influence on the household activities of the elderly. The personal attributes of the elderly have little influence on their household activity pattern, which mainly reflects the influence of the discretionary activity pattern. From the family level, there is a significant substitution effect between the elderly and other members in household activities. The female heads who are less restricted by commuters have more opportunities to undertake housework due to more time and space opportunities. Therefore, the replacement between the elderly and the female heads in the household activities is more significant.Correspondingly, the housework pattern of the elderly is also mainly influenced by the commuter pattern of the female heads.Because of the existence of the substitution effect of housework activities, the relative independence between male and female heads in discretionary activities in such families has been created, and the situation of joint and substitution travel has also tended to decrease. In addition, although members' commuter constraints are more restrictive to their own non-work activities, the influence of the elderly on their household activities dominant when their commuters are not balanced. This also directly or indirectly led to differences in the decision-making order of free movement and housework in non commuting activities.
