| The purpose of junior middle school geography teaching is not only to let students experience the useful geographical knowledge in daily life,but also to train them to learn the world,cultivate the hometown feelings and to promote students’ geography core literacy.Compulsory education geography curriculum standards(The 2011 Version)put forward "learning the geography that is useful for life" as the basic principle which guides the teaching method selection of junior middle school geography.This article mainly analysis students’ learning methods and the present situation of teacher’s teaching methods in geography class of the junior middle school.Guided by the new curriculum reform,this article researches the life-oriented knowledge of geography teaching.After the combination with teaching practice,it forms typical teaching methods and cases in order to help students expend knowledge,improve ability and form positive values,so as to promote students’ geography core literacy.This paper defines the life-oriented conception of junior middle school geography teaching and sort out the life-oriented knowledge hierarchy of junior middle school geography on the basis of the reference to domestic and foreign related research achievement.In order to stimulate students’ interest in life-oriented knowledge of junior middle school geography and better cultivate the concept of people coordinated development,enhance synthetical thinking ability and develop students’ capacities of understanding and practice,this article combines literature research method,questionnaire survey method with classroom observation methods to research junior middle school geography life-oriented teaching methods.Problems are found after analyzing the results of questionnaire survey and classroom observation:Situation of life-oriented teaching is not enough.Besides,students’ willingness to explore on their own desperately need to be strengthened.Moreover,skills and method of self-directed learning and cooperative inquiry teached in the usual class can not be widely used.What’s more,students have little chance to participate in geographical social practice activities.According to the above results,this paper discusses life-oriented teaching methods,using situational teaching method and the exploratory teaching method to illustrate the point,and forms typical cases after combining the reality of junior middle school geography teaching.In the meantime,this paper proposed to carry out geographical extracurricular activities and to cultivate students’ geography core literacy. |
