| In recent years,as the evolving of social transformation and globalization,values of utilitarian values have gradually invaded people’s minds,so that,individualism has become more prominent.Under such atmosphere,public rationality,social empathy,awareness of social responsibility,public ideals and beliefs,and public participation ability among college students gradually become weakened,which reflect the lack of public spirit.Public spirit means members of society enter the public domain with an independent and free subjective identity,beyond the limitations of self consciousness,takes the initiative to pay attention to the public interest,actively participate in the management of public affairs,and commit to maintain the public specification.Public spirit includes the core values of "public",public rationality,social empathy,public ideals and beliefs,and public participation ability.Nowadays,the development of public life requires members of society to built up public spirit.As the leaders of the future,college students are often regarded as pioneers and role models,thus,the cultivation of college students’ public spirit can accelerate the construction of public spirit among every member in the society,and also promote the improvement and development of social public life.In another word,the development of social public life calls for the cultivation of college students’ public spirit.As the cradle for the cultivation of college students’ public spirit,however,current moral education in colleges lacks the value of "public",the creation of public life and activities,the concept of caring and emotional factors.Which has hindered the development of the public spirit among college students.The concept of caring ethics was proposed by Noddings in the 20th century.Caring ethics emphasizes the establishment of caring relationship.The caring relationship established upon the caring ethics provides realistic caring experience of the public participation to the subjects.The caring accomplishment cultivated in the caring experience benefits the construction of the school community.As the spillover of the caring ethics,the consciousness of others is the source of public consciousness,in which the "others"make the realization of "public" possible.This thesis introduce the concept of caring ethics and the consciousness of others,to establish a new orientation of the moral education methods of public spirit in colleges,more importantly,to promote the cultivation of public spirit with caring heart.The thesis comes up with several specific strategies.First,construction of caring peer relationships in interpersonal communication in colleges to promote the cultivation of students’ caring accomplishment,the consciousness of others and public consciousness.Second,implant and strengthen public emotional experience in college public life,which can accelerate the construction of caring community in public life in colleges,and amplify the catalytic effect of caring factors,as well as play"public" value in caring ethics to realize the cultivation of the public consciousness among college students.Finally,through public service activities such as social service and service learning,college students are able to better understand their social responsibility in the participation of public services,and also feel the emotional responses and belongings from the caring community.Meanwhile,the service experience can foster the students’social empathy and public consciousness. |
