Purpose:based on the previous studies,this stucdy investigated the current situation of high school PE teachers’ competency and job performance in urban areas of Jiangsu Province.In order to find out the relationship between competency and job performance of PE teachers in senior high school,the differences between competency and job performance and their demographic variables were studied.To provide practical guidance and research basis for the improvement and development of physical education teachers in urban areas of Jiangsu Province.Methods:using convenient sampling method,350 senior high school PE teachers were selected from Jiangsu Province,Jiangsu Province,North Jiangsu,Jiangsu Province and the provincial capital Nanjing to participate in this study.Each teacher completed two questionnaires.Each of the above questionnaires was collected 350 copies,and the two qualified questionnaires were regarded as valid questionnaires.After eliminating invalid questionnaires,a total of 298questionnaires were obtained.SPSS20.0 was used to carry out statistical analysis,and independent sample t-test and single factor variance analysis were carried out on the competency and job performance of PE teachers in senior high school.Correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between competency and job performance of PE teachers in senior high school.After controlling the relevant variables,the hierarchical regression method was used to explore the relationship between competency and job performance of PE teachers in senior high school.Results:(1)the competency characteristics of senior PE teachers in urban areas of Jiangsu Province(M ± SD=131.21 ± 10.680)and the level of job performance(M ± SD=184.07 ±28.972)were at a higher level.In terms of professional titles,the job performance of senior PE teachers in urban areas of Jiangsu Province was M ±SD=134.96 ±10.037)and the competency characteristics M ±SD=192.92 ±29,163 were at the highest level.In terms of age,there was no significant difference in the individual efficacy factor in the competency of senior high school PE teachers in Jiangsu Province.In terms of gender,there was no difference in the overall and dimensions of the competency of senior high school PE teachers in Jiangsu Province(0.962)and job performance(0.857).In the district,the work performance level of senior high school PE teachers in Nanjing city is the highest(133.26 ± 11.506),and that of senior high school PE teachers in southern Jiangsu is the highest(194.54 1±26.532).There is a correlation between the competence and job perfomance of senior high school PE teachers in Jiangsu Province.Furthermore,the correlation analysis of each job dimension also has significant correlation.After the correlation analysis,taking competency as independent variable and work performance as dependent variable,regression analysis is carried out to prove that job performance has positive predict.ive effect on competency.The regression equation is:job performance = 101.063+ competency*0.164.Conclusion:(1)the competency of senior high school PE teachers in Jiangsu Province has a positive effect on job performance,and the higher the competency is,The higher the job performance,the higher the performance.2)each sub-dimension of senior high school PE teacher sun defined competency also has a positive promoting effect on each dimension of job performance,and competency has a positive effect on job performance and its sub-dimensions.Job performance also has a positive promoting effect on competency and its sub-dimensions.)the competency of senior high school PE teachers in Jiangsu Province has a positive predictive effect on job performance.
