| Lao She is a famous novelist,writer and dramatist in modern China.At the same time,he is also an educator.Although Lao She didn’t compile a monograph on education,he created a large number of novels about education.His nearly two decades of teaching career provided a unique perspective and basic material for the creation of his educational novels.Educational novels are his long-term experiences and insights in educational work and are also projections of his own thoughts.On the basis of fully grasping the historical materials and based on Lao She’s educational novels in the 1920 s and 1930 s,from the perspective of educational history,this paper analyzes and studies Lao She’s educational thoughts systematically and summarizes his thoughts of school education,family education and social education.Studying Lao She’s education thought has a great significance for enriching our country’s modern education and solving the problems in today’s education.In addition to the introduction,this article has five parts:The first part explores the gestation of Lao She’s educational thoughts.The special era background made Lao She realize the importance of education.The experience of normal learning laid a theoretical foundation for the formation of Lao She’s educational thought.Many years of teaching experience laid a practical foundation for the formation of Lao She’s educational thought.These experiences determined the course of his thought development,and gradually formed his own educational thought.The second part mainly discusses Lao She’s idea of school education except for old cloth.In terms of teaching content,Lao She criticized rigid,boring,obedient teaching content and advocated reform of teaching content to make it more interesting and close to life;In terms of teaching methods,Lao She criticized the teaching method of "ignoring education principles",advocated reforming teaching methods,and advocated the knowledge of professors to "spill into the heart";In terms of teacher literacy,Lao She criticized the teacher image of “inability,not morality,” and considered that knowledge,morality,and love are the good qualities teachers should have.In terms of educational environment,Lao She criticized the messy and constrained school environment and believed that a comfortable and clean campus environment and a harmonious teacher-student relationship are the basic features of a good school environment.The third part expounds Lao She’s family education thought that stimulates children’s“desire to life”.Influenced by his own learning growth experience and the influence of Lu Xun’s "child-oriented" thought and Rousseau’s "natural education" thought,Lao She formed his own unique family education thought.Lao She criticized the traditional family education forchildren’s physical and mental constraints,and advocated the family education thought that stimulates children’s “desire to life”.In terms of family education methods,Lao She opposed the“little adults”style of education and thought that children should learn to play and play and grow in nature.The fourth part discusses Lao She’s social education thought of "environmental influence".From the perspective of modern education and human development,Lao She realized the importance of social education.Lao She’s social education ideology includes not only the social atmosphere and customs,but also the nature,which is embodied in a broad sense of social education.Specifically speaking,in terms of social environment,Lao She cautioned people to stay away from bad social conditions and develop good living habits.In terms of the natural environment,Lao She believed that we should pay attention to the education and influence of nature on people and foster good quality.The fifth part is the modern enlightenment of Lao She’s educational thought.By summarizing Lao She’s educational thoughts,it can be instructive to solve problems in current education reforms and practices such as children’s education,the construction of teachers’ morality,and the influence of environment on students. |
