Research On Historical Materials Of "music Examination And Identification" In Qing Dynasty's Notes

The textual research of music or history of music in the notes of Qing Dynasty is recorded in the music historical materials with the style of the times.With the evolution from previous dynasties to Qing Dynasty,wider experience had been gained.Affected by the scholarship in particular political and economic society in Qing Dynasty,the scholarship of the research of history in Qing Dynasty drove the interest of scholars.They researched the music by note,so that specialized research in music and history of music had been developed in the music notes of Qing Dynasty.The literature of textual research of music notes in Qing Dynasty developed through the whole Qing Dynasty,which is most thriving in the regions south of the Yangtze River.The note-takers were mostly Jinshi,the successful candidate in the highest imperial examinations,who had great learning and rich experience.“Late Ming and early Qing Dynasty” and “Qian Jia School” were the prime of the literature of research of music notes and were deeply influenced by the scholarship at that time,creating an atmosphere of broad inquiry and research of Qing scholars in music literature.The literature of textual research of music notes in Qing Dynasty abounds,including composition,instruments,allusions and activities.The mutual reflection of notes and history or data of epigraphy,the dynamic research from the creation and form of instruments,and the evolution of allusion literature and music life can reveal the characteristics of music study in Qing Dynasty.The well documented music notes have dual function of recording and researching.Part of them are still of academic value and can be referenced as the guidance of present researches.In the literature of textology of music notes of Qing Dynasty,the main research method is to quote and compare extensively to testify the existing one,similar to the method applied in the specialized research like history,philology and exegesis.The core of the method is “there is no credibility unless supported by evidence”.The cultivation of doing research is to view the fruits of the predecessors researches with critical eyes.It is obvious that there is connection between the literature of textology of music notes and the scholarship in Qing Dynasty.
