The Historical Value Of Qing Dynasty’s Notes

Notes are the literary style of recording miscellanies or experiences. Notes originatein Wei and Jin Dynasty, flourishing in Tang and Song Dynasty. Then, notes are at thepeak of Qing Dynasty. And notes of Qing Dynasty are better than former dynasties inquantity and content.Notes of Qing Dynasty are vast and numerous. The common classification is thatnotes are divided into stories, institutions and historical news, textual research. And thelatter has high historical value. The reason why Notes of Qing Dynasty are so successfulis related to social background, political background and scientific background. Notes ofQing Dynasty have common features of notes of past dynasty, which reflects the optionalcharacter, authenticity and richness. Moreover, notes of Qing Dynasty have its ownfeatures.There are three points of the historical value. There are the value of historical data,the value of historical theory, and the value of historiography. And the value of historicalnotes is most important. Historical notes play a supplementary role in political news andinstitutions, economic materials and customs, military and frontier geographical materials.The value of historical theory is also very important. On the other hand, this paper discusses the criticism and inheritance ofhistorical heritage issues, which has two aspects of historical value. Besides, this paperrefers to a little value of historiography, and divides into two parts: compiling historicalrecords, writing history.
