Notes On Proofreading Of "The Book Of The Later Han Dynasty"

The History of the Later Han Dynasty,which is one of the “History of the first four”,was compiled by Fan Ye,the famous historian of Liu Song period in the Nan Dynasty.The Zhonghua Book Company formally published the emendation version of the History of the Later Han Dynasty in 1965 s.Although this book is one of the most creditable versions of the History of the Later Han Dynasty,there are also some inadequacy in it,such as the the mistake of the punctuation and the inaccuracy of the collation.Regard the version of Zhonghua Book Company as the original edition,we select the mistakes of the Li Xian’s comment of the History of the Later Han Dynasty through comprehensive screening,and verify the quotation of Li Xian with the quotation’s source.By this work,we can prove the reason of the inadequacy of the1965’s version.What we do not only can be beneficial to the revise of the History of the Later Han Dynasty,but also can help the other ancient classical book’s emendation.
