The Erhu(or Chinese violin)has many performance techniques,in which the bow-strike one is mostly used to express the exhilarating and powerful emotions in music,or to express the most intense,surging,and contradictory movements in the piece.It could bring the audience into the emotions music conveys and the pictures music depicts.The reason why the bow-strike technique has such a dramatic performance effect is that it is largely associated with the angle of strike when playing.Therefore,this article will focus on the issue of “defining the best range of bow-strike angle”,and will consist of three sections,including the introduction,body paragraphs(divided in four chapters)and conclusion.Introduction: This article will introduce the reasons and methods of thinking in the research topic of "Erhu right-hand technique: the bow-strike angle range to create the best sound"Body:Chapter 1 Brief Introduction to Bow-strike techniqueThis chapter will discuss the concept,categories,notation of bow strike and how to play with it.Chapter 2 The Use of Bow-strike in Music-Along With Two Music ExamplesThis chapter will take two Erhu works as examples,focusing on some specific uses of the bow strike technique in these works and the musical effects they carry out.Chapter 3 Best Bow-strike Angle RangeThis chapter will explore the maximum and minimum angles of bow-strike in performance,and the influence sound and noise can add to the bow-strike effect.It will explain the landing point of bow-strike,and will measure the angle range when playing with the bow-strike by recording three sets of data,followed by an analysis on the sound waveform graph from the recording.Chapter 4 Practice Approach to achieve the best bow-strike angle and landing point of the bowBased on the research outcome and the learning and performance experience of the author herself,the article will summarize a three-step method of to achieve the best bow-strike angle range,as well as detailed explanations of each step,and finally will validate these methods through practical applications.Hoping that through this research,the technique of bow-strike can be made more scientific and better applied in practice,and it will also play a positive role in further improving the performance of Erhu.
