As a basic Chinese vocabulary, body organ nouns have a variety of extended semantics,of which quantifiers are an important semantic extension direction. Most of the body organ nouns in Japanese are borrowed from Chinese vocabulary. However, because of the different cultural backgrounds between China and Japan, the meanings of these body organ nouns have changed during the long-term use of Japanese, forming their own language features.Through diachronic investigation and synchronic comparison, this paper studies the semantic evolution of quantifiers in five body organs of Chinese and Japanese which are same writing form, namely "head","mouth","hand","finger" and "foot"(quantifiers are called " auxiliary numerals " in Japanese),to examine their quantifiers one by one,and sums up,analyzes and summarizes their similarities and differences,so as to realize the thinking mode and cultural characteristics of the two countries, and strive to help Chinese or Japanese learners better understand the meaning of words and avoid misuse in language learning. It is also helpful for non-Chinese and Japanese native speakers to learn a second language. It is a supplement to the relevant content of cross-cultural Chinese character research, and also has some gains in the study of Chinese characters and the comparative study of second language. This article includes an introduction,a comparative study and a conclusion of five classifiers of Chinese and Japanese body organs, namely "head","mouth","hand","finger" and "foot".The introduction explains the reason of the topic selection and sorts out the related research situation of the topic selection in this paper.Chapters 1 to 5 are the main parts of this article.By selecting "head" and "mouth" and "hand" and "finger" and "foot" five representative body organ quantifiers to investigate,by exploring the etymology of the quantifier,we further investigate its specific semantic development path and semantic evolution mechanism, make an overall description of the different usage characteristics of the same body organ quantifier in the two countries and make semantic comparison, combing and summarizing the similarities and differences between the two.The conclusion part is to sort out and summarize the contents of the previous five chapters, sort out and summarize the semantic development and evolution mechanism of body organ quantifiers in China and Japan from the overall level of semantic development and evolution, and summarize the overall characteristics and similarities and differences of body organ quantifiers in the two countries.
