Research On "x Zi" Adverbs In Modern Chinese

This paper takes modern Chinese modal adverb “Shan-zi,Si-zi,An-zi,Ge-zi,Jing-zi,Qin-zi,Du-zi” as the research object.Under the guidance of the three-plane theory,the modal adverbs “X-zi” are analyzed from the syntactic,semantic and pragmatic aspects using comparative analysis method.The first chapter is the introduction,which mainly introduces the purpose and significance of the research,as well as the theoretical basis and practical basis of the research.Meanwhile we will make a simple introduction of research status on modal adverbs and “X-zi” type adverbs.The research methods,the sources of the corpus and the innovations of this paper are also explained.In chapter two,the syntactic structures,syntactic functions and combinatorial functions of modal adverbs “X-zi” are investigated in detail.After analyzing the structural characteristics of these words,we find that the main syntactic function of “X-zi” is adverbial.We also analyze the combination of these adverbs with the structural auxiliary word “de”,verbs,other adverbs and special sentence components.In chapter three,we find that the modal adverbs “X-zi” have the common semantic features of [+oneself] [+narrator] [+autonomy] [+controllability],semantically referring to the subject of action.In chapter four,the modal adverbs “X-zi” are analyzed from the aspects of stylistics and pragmatic functions.It is found that the “X-zi” adverbs have the pragmatic functions of modification,focus and subjective evaluation,but they have difference in stylistic distribution and stylistic color.The fifth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the whole content of the thesis and points out the innovations and shortcomings.
