In modern languages,the study of language is not just about language.It also touches on other factors that directly affect language and its relationship.Therefore,the trend of cross-cultural language research has become an essential aspect of any language in the world.Cultural teaching play an important role of teaching Chinese as a foreign language..Vietnam and China are neighbors,so both in terms of language and culture,two countries have many similarities,including the color words and cultural connotations of color words.Due to the long historical development,different in culture and social conditions,Vietnam and China also have a lots differences in color terms and their cultural connotations.In this paper,five color words of "red","yellow","white","black" and "green" in Chinese and five color words of "??","vŕng","tr?ng","?en",and "xanh" in Vietnamese are selected for careful comparison,and through a large number of surveys on Vietnamese learners,the types of errors are analyzed and teaching suggestions are put forward.The paper is divided into five parts:Introduction:firstly elaborates on the background and significance of the topic,and then summarizes the research review on color words,and finally introduces the relevant research work of this article,including the research content,research methods and innovations.The first chapter is the study of language ontology,comparing the original meaning and cultural connotation of Chinese and Vietnamese color words,through list comparison,and in-depth analysis of the same words,so as to clarify the similarities and differences between them.The second chapter is the design and results of questionnaire for Vietnamese learners.The positive response rate of learners in the process of the survey reflects their love for Chinese;the corresponding problems and solutions to the problems can be found from the results of the survey.The third chapter mainly summarizes and analyzes the types and causes of the errors in the use of Chinese color words.There are four types of errors in Vietnamese learners' use ofChinese color words: understanding errors,translation errors,application errors,and collocation errors.Based on these types of errors,the author summarizes the causes of the errors from four aspects,as well as the cultural differences between China and Vietnam,the negative transfer of mother tongue,unreasonable textbook compilation and inappropriate teaching strategies.The fourth chapter is based on the results of the error analysis in the third chapter,and gives some teaching advice for teachers,students,textbooks.
