In the multimedia era,the Chinese visual-audio-oral course is becoming more and more popular with the new three-dimensional teaching,but there are many problems in the teaching materials,which do not match its development.The teaching objects and teaching ideas guided by the production-oriented approach are compatible with the course character and teaching objectives of Chinese visual-audio-oral course for upper-intermediate learners.Therefore,the present study aims to analyze the feasibility of applying production-oriented approach to Chinese visual-audio-oral course from the perspective of its course character,teaching objectives,target students,and the current situation of this teaching material.On the basis of that,the author would like to propose some suggestions concerning principles and methods of developing teaching material.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly expounds the research background,research significance,theoretical basis,research content,research method and innovation of this paper,and summarizes the related research on production-oriented approach,the classification,material selection,compilation principles and existing problems of Chinese visual-audio-oral textbooks.The second part first statistics and sorted out the publication of Chinese visual-audio-oral textbooks for upper-intermediate learners,and then used questionnaires to investigate the establishment of Chinese visual-audio-oral course,the use of textbooks,and the needs of Chinese teachers and learners.It concludes the current problems in the selection of materials and the overall design of the Chinese visual-audio-oral textbooks for upper-intermediate learners.The third part attempts to develop an evaluation standard for Chinese visual-audio-oral textbooks based on the evaluation standard of Chinese language textbooks for foreigners.This standard is used to evaluate three authoritative textbooks on the market: Home With Kids(A Multi-skill Chinese Course),Qin Huai Ren Jia(A Multi-skill Chinese Course for junior and senior students)and China Foucs,in order to find the merit and deficiency of the books from the writing of the concept and the overall design of the two aspects,and summarize the common problems.The fourth part aims to analyze the feasibility of applying production-oriented approach to Chinese visual-audio-oral course from the perspective of its course character,teaching objectives,target students,and the current situation of this teaching material.The fifth part is based on the production-oriented approach and puts forward the sixprinciples of "driving the ability by using output tasks,choosing diversified materials,distinguishing the key,layering the units knowledge,holding the essence of evaluation,highlighting the particularity of Chinese" in the compilation of middle and advanced Chinese visual-audio-oral textbooks.The design of the link gives specific suggestions.
