The rapid rise of China's economy is changing the existing power structure in the world, and it can be predicted that the strategic competition between major powers will be more intense in the future.Vigorously strengthening the research of social science texts translation is not only the need of the disciplinary development, but also of national development.Radhika Desai's book Geopolitical Economy breaks the traditional dogma of international political economics, strongly criticizes the US dollar history and the theory of global hegemony, and combines Marx's and Keynes' s theories on the global economic crisis to explain the intricate relationship between US Hegemonism and transnational capital flows in a new way, which has a very realistic guiding significance and reference value for the study of domestic and foreign geopolitics and economics. Therefore, the translator extracts the book as a translation text to provide a Chinese translation for domestic experts and scholars, students and readers interested in geopolitics and economics.Taking the Chinese translation of chapter 5 of the Geopolitical Economy as an example, this translation report first analyzes the characteristics of social science texts and summarizes the translation difficulties and vocabulary translation problems in the translation process.Based on the culture, logic and norms, the translator summarizes the basic translation methods and strategies for such texts by giving specific case analysis. The author expects to provide some useful ideas for the translation of social science texts in order to improve the efficiency and quality of the translation of such texts.
