Reflexive And Reflexive

Using the film Synecdoche,New York,written and directed by Charlie Kaufman,as an index,this paper attempts to deconstruct its complex,interwoven content,structure and photographic representations.In this paper,we will dismantle "reflexivity" and "self-reflexivity" in the film as a "reflexive film",then relate them to the metaphorical techniques used in artworks and rhetoric in the attempt to analyse the sense of reflexivity that permeates the film.We will also look at the tendencies which are revealed in the movie of self-referential upon art media since modern art as well as the mechanism of translation between media.Next,the spatio-temporal spectacle constructed in the film is dismantled and categorized with other related video works.The video interpretations of the spatio-temporal spectacle in the work are compiled and analyzed in detail.
