The Influence Of Wisdom On Cooperative Behavior In Game Decision-making

Wisdom as an ancient topic has been widely concerned by researchers.At present,the research on the topic of wisdom has made a series of new achievements in the aspects of definition,structure,measurement,type and so on.Wisdom is an alloy of virtue and intelligence,which can bring well-being to oneself,others and society.Individuals with wisdom traits may show more prosocial behavior in interpersonal interaction.Cooperation can benefit both parties in the social dilemma.Studying the influence of wisdom on cooperative behavior in social dilemma is helpful to explore ways to promote cooperative behavior.Based on the theory of the integration of virtue and intelligence of wisdom,the study explored the influence of wisdom on cooperative behavior in game decision-making through three empirical studies.Study 1 discussed the relationship between wisdom components and cooperation,based on the theory of the integrity of virtue and intelligence.Experiment 1 examined the relationship between wisdom components and cooperative behavior on the implicit level through the implicit association test paradigm.The experimental results proved that there was cognition of wisdom attribute of cooperative behavior on the implicit level,that is to say,there was a certain relationship between wisdom and cooperative behavior.Experiment 2 examined the importance of wisdom components to cooperative behavior by means of self-evaluation and others' evaluation.The results showed that whether the partners have good moral character or not is of great significance to the emergence of cooperative behavior.Study 1 confirmed the relationship between wisdom and cooperative behavior,and verified the influence of virtue and intelligence on cooperative behavior.Study 2 explored the behavior differences between wise individuals and foolish individuals in the social dilemma through the game paradigm,from the perspective of the first person of the wise individuals and foolish individuals.Experiment 1 and 2investigated the decision-making differences of the participants in the game dilemma under wise/foolish exemplar priming,using public account game and chicken game to simulate social dilemmas respectively.The results showed that the participantsshowed more cooperative behavior under wise exemplar priming than under foolish exemplar priming.The results of study 2 proved that wise individuals and foolish individuals showed different decision-making behaviors in game decision-making due to the influence of individual traits.Study 3 explored the influence of virtue and intelligence in wisdom on cooperative behavior from the perspective of perceiving the trait types of others.Experiment 1 discussed the cooperative willingness of the participants to 8protagonists(different trait types),and adopted the scoring task of the sentence protagonists' cooperative willingness.The results showed that the participants were willing to cooperate with individuals with high virtue and intelligence.On the basis of experiment 1,experiment 2 further verified the cooperation willingness of the participants to the cooperative objects with different trait levels,and adopted the object selection paradigm and the ability priming paradigm.Trust game task was used to explore the mediating effect of interpersonal trust between wisdom and cooperative behavior.The results showed that perceived virtue level of others had a great influence on cooperative behavior,and interpersonal trust plays an intermediary role between them.The results showed that:(1)There was a cognition at the implicit level that cooperative behavior had the attribute of wisdom.(2)Participants showed more cooperative behavior under wise exemplar priming,and that participants showed more conflict behavior under foolish exemplar priming.(3)Compared with the intelligence,the virtue of wisdom had a greater influence on the generation of cooperative behavior.Trust level played a part in mediating the relationship between perceived virtue level and cooperative behavior.The above three studies have verified the close correlation between wisdom and cooperative behavior.Wisdom played a positive role in promoting cooperative behavior in game decision making.
