A Study Of The Left And Right Concubines In The Tang Dynasty

Donggong official,as the name implies,refers to the official of the crown prince,the successor of the emperor,the supreme ruler of feudal society.As one of the organic parts of the central bureaucracy system in ancient China,Donggong officials were responsible for educating,guiding and protecting the crown prince.Among them,Zuoyoushuzi,as the four officials in Donggong,have higher rank and great responsibility,and their status is very important.In Tang Dynasty,there were 151 princes on Zuouyoushuzi,which are the main issues discussed in this paper.The first part mainly explores the origin of the system and the position of Zuoyoushuzi in Tang Dynasty.From Zhou Dynasty to Tang Dynasty,Zuoyoushuzi had become mature central official positions.They were mainly in charge of the daily work of the eastern palace,such as sarcasm,management of zuochunfang and youchunfang,or the temporary assignment of the emperor.In addition,Zuoyoushuzi also have the relations of keeping,doing and concurrently with the scattered officials.The second part is about the study of Zuoyoushuzi.This part makes a statistical analysis of the birthplace,the origin,the transfer and the qualifications of Zuoyoushuzi in Tang Dynasty.Zuoyoushuzi were widely distributed,but there was a certain imbalance,mainly concentrated in the northern central plains where Hebei Road,Henan Road,Hedong road and Guannei road were located,and most of them appeared before the Anshi rebellion.This imbalance is related to the factors of politics,population,society and geography in Tang Dynasty.In Tang Dynasty,there were many ways for Zuoyoushuzi to enter the government,but they still chose officials mainly by imperial examination and menyin.The third part is about the study of Zuoyoushuzi and the change of political system in Tang Dynasty.This part analyzes the relationship between the imperial power and prince in the operation of Donggong,and through the changes of the official positions of Zuoyoushuzi,we can see the changes of the official system of the Tang Dynasty.
