On The Wandering Narration Of Modern Novels

The vagrant narrative is a literary phenomenon that cannot be ignored in modern literature.As for the novelists in modern times the vagrant narrative exists,to some degree,in the their writing and works.We can get to understand the basic development of modern fiction from the vagrant narrative.Modern vagrant narrative comes into being with the emergence of modern literature and develops along with it.This thesis consists of 5 chapters.Chapter 1 defines the concept of vagrant narrative on the basis of summarizing the predecessors' viewpoints.It is hold that vagrant narrative is a narrative mode that centers on vagrants,with their journey as the clue,narrating vagrants' personal experience from the perspective of the vagrants.Its formation is the outcome of the interaction of traditional vagrant narrative,Western vagrant novels and social changes.Chapter 2 divides the vagrant narrative works from 1919 to 1949 into three stages: the vagrant narrative in the 1920 s highlights the “awakening of human beings”,in the 1930 s highlights the "theme of revolutionary literature",and in the 1940 s emphasizes the “diversified anti-Japanese war literature”.In Chapter 3,in the shape of the characters,the image of vagrants can be divided into three categories: rebellious intellectual vagrants,complex peasant and worker vagrants,and awakened female vagrants.In Chapter 4,in terms of themes,there are four manifestations of vagrant narrative in modern fiction: the critical theme of vagrant narrative,highlighting the criticism of social darkness;the theme of vagrants' pursuit,emphasizing the pursuit of ideals and survival goals;the theme of vagrants' rebellion,showing vagrants' rebellion to fate and social reality;the growth theme of vagrants demonstrates the development of their behavior and thinking.In Chapter 5,in terms of narrative features and methods,the vagrant narrative in modern fiction is linked with the whole story on the basis of vagrant structure.In narrative structure,the vagrants produce different stories with different people on their journey,with stories independent and irrelevant each other.The vagrant narrative takes the vagrant as the clue to construct the narrative structure by connecting the stories in series.Compared with the loose structure of the Western vagrant narrative,the vagrant narrative in modern fiction is typical of rigor in time and space,and causality in plot.In terms of the narrative perspective,as influenced by Western vagrant fiction,the first person narrative from the vagrant perspective is applied to narrate vagrant narrative in modern fiction,giving people a sense of reality and interest.The third person narrative is applied to the creation of vagrant narrative so as to objectively and fully display the course of vagrancy on the basis of authenticity.The concluding part of this thesis summarizes the creation of contemporary vagrant narrative on the basis of the previous chapters,and briefly discusses the influence of vagrant narrative in modern fiction on contemporary vagrant narrative in theme,subject matter,and image shaping.
