Humanistic quality plays an indispensable role in the accumulation and inheritance of culture and the improvement of personality.High-quality teachers not only have a certain degree of scientific literacy and teaching quality,but more importantly have a very high degree of humanistic quality.For junior high school English teachers,in addition to having a solid knowledge of English,they must possess sufficient humanistic knowledge and internalize humanistic spirit and humanistic behavior.Humanistic quality is an important part of the overall quality of teachers.It affects the education and teaching behavior of junior high school English teachers,and affects the quality of English classroom teaching.It is of great significance to teachers’ professional growth.The new round of basic education English curriculum reform puts forward higher requirements for junior high school English teachers.Humanistic knowledge and English subject knowledge are integrated in teaching.It is a proper meaning for English education to give students humanistic care in English education.But it has not been truly embodied.This has something to do with the overall quality of junior middle school English teachers,especially the humanistic quality.At present,there are few studies on the humanistic quality of junior English teachers at home and abroad.How to improve the humanistic quality of teachers has great practical significance for cultivating high-quality students.Therefore,this paper selects this field for research and hopes to add newer footholds for English teachers’ professional development.This research mainly uses the literature method,the questionnaire method and the interview method.First of all,this article discusses the connotation of humanistic quality through extensive research on related literature at home and abroad.Secondly,this article aims at the design of related problems in the understanding of the content of humanistic quality,the knowledge of humanistic knowledge,and the teaching behavior of junior high school English teachers,and samples the status quo of the humanistic quality of the 88 English teachers in five junior high schools in Wanzhou District through questionnaires and interviews.After the investigation was completed,statistics and analysis were conducted on the relevant data.The factors of the differences in the humanities quality of the junior middle school English teachers were analyzed,and the problems and reasons were analyzed from the aspects of the management system,society,schools,and teachers themselves,and finally proposed solutions on this basis.Corresponding solutions include five aspects: understanding the connotation of humanistic literacy,investing heavily in basic education,strengthening teachers’ humanistic quality education,implementing humanistic spirit in teaching practice,and consciously upgrading humanistic literacy.
