The Current Status Of MTI Professional Master's Training And The Reform Of The Training Mechanism

Since the establishment of the Master of Translation and Interpreting(MTI)in 2007,its development has drawn much attention.The translation master's degree is produced in the development of the translation industry itself.However,MTI is still in the pilot phase.There is no inbound and outbound experience to use directly.Besides,the implementation of MTI is too fast,so some problems will inevitably occur in its practice.ECUPL has enrolled masters of translation since 2015.It is still at an exploratory stage.This paper aims to analyze East China University of Political Science and Law and other four universities(Shanghai International Studies University,Fudan University,Shanghai Jiaotong University,Tongji University).Based on the questionnaires and teacher's interviews,this paper analyzes the present situation of the MTI instruction of five universities in Shanghai,in order to summarize and explore ways to improve it.In addition,we draw lessons and gain experience from these universities,combined with the characteristics of our own disciplines,students characteristics and other factors,to explore the unique path for the development of MTI in ECUPL,and also provide experience and lessons for a more complete and comprehensive research in the later period.
