On The Present Situation And Reform Of Mainland Undergraduate Translation Education

As the growing need for translation talents, the problem of translation teaching attracts more and more interesting of study field. In the recent years, the translation teaching in mainland developed rapidly. But compared with that of Hong Kong, Taiwan and other foreign countries, there are some problems should be studied. As for mainland translation teaching, the scholars should understand the present situation of translation teaching, find the short points of it, study suitable teaching aim, contents, and methods for undergraduate translation education, and explore how to make translation teaching independent form English teaching as well as how to educate professional translation talents that fit market needs based on combination of teaching system and CATTI.The author quotes much documents, introduces the changing of mainland translation teaching in recent 5 years, clarifies the present situation of mainland transition specialty construction. By comparison of curriculum with that of Hong Kong, Taiwan and other foreign translation college, the author points out the problems those exist in mainland translation teaching. By study of translation industry, the author finds the gap between translation teaching and translation market, and proposes suggestions based on that.
