Buddhist culture has been introduced into China for more than two thousand years.In the process of continuous development,Buddhist culture has long been integrated with the Confucian and Taoist thoughts of the mainland of China and is inseparable.It is an important part of Chinese traditional culture.There are similarities and differences between Buddhist philanthropic thought and social work.Charity ideas under the two cultural backgrounds should seek common ground while reserving differences for common progress and development.Buddhist philanthropic culture can be used for reference and development in the social work value concept.At the same time,the introduction of social work into China will have a certain impact on the Buddhist charity culture in China.Buddhist charity is society The important component of work charity and social work have the possibility to combine and cooperate.By studying the service concept of the two and clarifying the difference between their ideas,we can better promote the combination and cooperation between the two.In the first part of this paper,several Buddhist monasteries around Xi'an will be interviewed to find out their characteristics in the aspect of charity.The second part analyzes the social service motivation of Buddhists in the aspect of social charity through the data collected in the first part.The third part,explores the social work social service motivation.The fourth part analyzes and compares the social service motivation of Buddhist charity and the service motivation of social work,and probes into Buddhist charity.To promote the combination of social work and Buddhist charity,to help Buddhist charity to participate in social charity better,and to become an important force in social charity.
