Research On The Novel Elements Of "Fun Su Tong Yi"

In the development history of Chinese literature,the Western and Eastern Han dynasties were the time when literary genres underwent significant changes.The accumulated economic foundation and cultural deposits since the Han dynasty created favorable conditions for the development of literature,and various literary styles were constantly produced and improved.At the end of the Eastern Han dynasty,social unrest intensified and people moved from place to place.Some intellectuals turned their eyes to the life of lower class people and turned to secular thinking.Ying shao's "Feng Su Tong Yi" is a prominent representative of this transitional period.With the purpose of "altering old customs and habits",a large number of folk legends,social customs and folk stories are collected in this book,which gives a picture of the customs in the society at the end of the Han dynasty.Among them,quite a few contents are elaborately carved in story narration and character description,showing the early form of some classical Chinese novels and showing high literary skills in subject matter and writing style.Of course,"folkway" can not be called a full sense of the novel,but the whole work contains a considerable content of novel elements,including history,myths,fairy tales,monsters,ghosts,anecdotes,public cases and other stories,and has a certain impact on the novels about monsters and historic figures.In some respect,it can be considered that "Feng Su Tong Yi" has accumulated valuable experience for later novels,played an important role in promoting and transitioning the formation and development of novels in the Wei and Jin dynasties,and was an important pregnant form before the formation of ancient Chinese novels.This paper will focus on the part of "Feng Su Tong Yi" that contains novel elements apparently,and make a comprehensive and in-depth analysis.The first chapter starts with the age of Ying shao's life and explains the relationship between the emergence of the work "Feng Su Tong Yi" and the special historical background and the author's knowledge.Through the specific investigation of the text of "Feng Su Tong Yi",the characteristics of the development trend of fictionalization of some of its contents are affirmed,and its literary significance is preliminarily expounded.The second chapter focuses on the analysis of novel elements contained in "Feng Su Tong Yi",carefully combing the story plot and character images in "Feng Su Tong Yi",deeply analyzing the novel's embryonic features,and explaining the literary genes of traditional historical literature,myths,legends and prophetic stories.The third chapter makes an in-depth study of the novel elements and brushwork of "Feng Su Tong Yi",comprehensively analyzes the story theme,narrative skills,character description and language style,displays its superb narrative and description skills,and reveals its unique artistic charm.The fourth chapter mainly expounds the literary value of the book,including the influence on the literary works of the novels of the later generations in China,the analysis and discussion of its promotion on the novel creation,the comments on the connotation and artistic style of the works.
