Proofreading Notes Of Wang Niansun's "Reading Magazine"

Du Shu Zha Zhi was written by Wang Niansun at the big time of textual criticism in Qing dynasty.The book represent the highest academic achievements of Qianjia school at that time.As a small ending part of the book,Du Wen Xuan Zha Zhi,which includes 115 entries,has got great value in the field of exegesis.In Qing dynasty,the study of collation of Wen Xuan varied the methods greatly and made rich academic achievements.As a study of collation and exegesis of Wen Xuan,Du Wen Xuan Zha Zhi is not only great at exegesis with phonology and philology but also sharp at citing the classics.Therefore,it is regarded as a representative work of exegesis of Wen Xuan with phonology and philology in Qing dynasty.The collation achievements in Du Wen Xuan Zha Zhi had been being cited widely by scholars in Qing dynasty and the present.This paper starts from every entry of the collation,supplement or collate some of the entries.The research work includes analysis and summary of the perspective and approach of the collation;speculation of the versions that the book based on;conclusion of the achievements and shortcomings.This paper is for the purpose of contributing to the study of collation and exegesis of Wen Xuan and the research on Wang Niansun’s academic achievements.
