| The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between psychological separation,emotional processing and mental health of junior high school students,and to design a group-assisted program of emotional focus therapy,which aims at helping junior high school students realize the importance of psychological separation in growth,improve their emotional processing ability and indirectly improve their mental health level.This study consists of two parts:In study 1,383 junior high school students in Nanjing were tested with the Psychological Separation Scale,Emotional Processing Scale and Mental Health Scale designed for Middle School Students.SPSS20.0 and Mplus7.0 were used for statistical analysis.The results showed that psychological separation was significantly correlated with mental health.The higher the level of psychological separation,the better the mental health status.Emotional processing played mediated the association between psychological separation and mental health.To study the effect of group counseling intervention,the second study used the pre-and post-test design of the experimental group and the control group.The experimental group conducted group counseling intervention with emotional focus orientation containing 10 activities,whilst the control group was not intervened Based on the data of the questionnaire survey,the subjects were selected in the low-level group of psychological separation in the first grade of junior middle school.The number of participants in the experimental group and the control group was 16 respectively The results showed that after the intervention,the scores of emotional depression,emotional disorder,emotional avoidance,emotional independence and mental health of the experimental group were significantly improved,and the scores of other dimensions were not significantly different.That is,the subjects’ emotional processing and psychological separation were improved,and their mental health was improved.The results demonstrated that emotional processing plays a mediating role partially between psychological separation and mental health,and group-assisted activities with emotional focus therapy orientation can improve the level of emotional processing and psychological separation of junior high school students,thereby improving their mental health.This study has some enlightenment for exploring the influencing factors of adolescents’ mental health,and also provides some help and suggestions for middle school students’ mental health education. |
