A Comparative Analysis Of Arabic Idioms And Chinese Idioms

Idioms reflect people s nature,highlight their lofty ideals in all aspects of life,and also provide valuable skills to human beings,because each idiom has an attractive story and worth to be learned.Idioms will also help us to communicate our ideas clearly.Idioms are an indispensable part of language.Not only educated people use idioms,but ordinary people often use idioms to express their ideas.In recent years,there has been upsurge of Chinese language throughout the world,and Arab countries have been one of them,in most Arab countries now they opened Confucius Institutes,and even some countries,such as Sudan have Chinese departments in universities.And with these upsurge a lot of Arab students began to learn Chinese,and also a lot of Chinese students began to learn Arabic.However,through this research,I found that the analysis and study of Arabic Chinese idioms is not comprehensive,and the number is not dominant,so I personally think that we also need to carry out a more profound study and investigation of Arabic Chinese idioms,to find out the differences between the two languages,through the results of research and investigation to propose better idiom teaching strategies,To help the students understand the culture of Arab and Chinese better,master the use of idioms,and improve their ability to express themselves.There are four chapters in this paper,the first chapter is divided into two sections,the first section briefly elaborate the reasons for selecting this topic,the previous research results and the research ideas and research methods of this paper.The second section mainly speaks of the concept and characteristics of Arabic idioms,the concept and characteristics of Chinese idioms,and finally sum up and analyzes the characteristics of Arabic Chinese idioms.The second chapter will refer to the structure and origin of Arabic Chinese idioms,in this chapter,we will first separate the structure and source of these two languages,and then according to the information that i found for comparative analysis.From the third chapter,it enters the main part of this paper,in this part,according to the aspects of meaning,cultural content,historical background,usage and so on,I will compare the Arabic Chinese idioms,and then divide the Arabic Chinese idioms into basic correspondence,semi-correspondence and non-corresponding idioms,In order to truly reflect the differences between Arabic Chinese idioms,I will give an example.The fourth chapter,and the last chapter,the author wants to analyze the test result,the target of this test is the Arab students whom study Chinese,in order to find a more comprehensive results,I test students from different country,level and age.According to the results of comparative analysis of Arabic Chinese idioms and the results of this test,I will suggest a reasonable teaching strategy of idioms.
