"True" was originally an important category in Chinese aesthetics. When it was introduced into painting,it was reflected in the reality of objective performance and the true reflection of the subjective world.Looking at the ancient and modern paintings from a vertical and horizontal perspective,it is not difficult to find that in the various forms of paintings with different themes and different types, the painters of the past generations, along with the social mainstream ideology of their era, accompanied their own judgments on the value of art,and continued to practice and explore. How to use "truth" as a teacher to achieve the artistic ideal of "having both form and spirit" and self-discipline.Compared with the ancients' search for "truth",today's painters face the important era of "reality" to a certain extent. The emergence of this phenomenon has greatly reduced the original quality of traditional Chinese painting. Therefore, referring to the ancient people's aesthetic experience of seeking "truth",and then reflecting on the present,we can better cope with the many problems faced by Chinese figure painting.
