The Congo Cosmic Celestial Body Map "DIKENGA" Was Used As The Source Of Inspiration For The Painting

When it comes to Africa,people may think that it is an artist or a born athlete who can only play drums,but that is not the case.Africa has its own identity,its own culture and its own stories: Africans do not live in traditional clichés or fixed patterns: life is very important for Africans.Africa has its own heroes and works of that marked times,so that more people understand that Africa’s unique diachronic culture has important practical significance.African art is one of the first manifestations of the world in all mankind.Among the human ancestors were Africans who invented and created many tools for hunting,observing the movement of luminary and stars in the universe to understand the supremacy of human society,or the invisible world of human beings haves creators.However,as the birthplace of human history and culture,many modern Africans have forgotten the civilization created by their ancestors and forgot that African land is the cradle of human civilization.African artists,especially in Congo,have always been committed to create myths.They have revived their own history and adapted to the way of life in modern society in the way they should.Professor Cheik Anta Diop emphasized “modernization is not the same as breaking the source of the past,but based on people’s past lifestyles,integrating some new elements so that people can better understand these things.African elites must be aware of its state,they must stop complaining about the past.They must know and understand its own culture and history to change the problems of reality and create a better future.Awareness is inevitable.This study aims to bring inspiration from Congo culture,from our profession,oil painting,to inspire the creation of more works for today’s and future generations.According to Congolese culture,human being has four basic parts:the body(nitu),the soul(menga lying in the blood),the spirit(like a second soul called fumu kutu)and the name(zina).This way of thinking by merging four elements creates an idea whose core element is a cosmic celestial chart that summarizes the life cycle,known as Kongo cross or "Dikenga."Dikenga will inspire us in the composition of artwork that the topic will be about mankind and culture.Although we are not the first to try such research,we will place more emphasis on the originality of creation.
