Since ancient times, people’s exploration of the mysterious power of nature has never stopped. It is a permanent topic for Chinese people of all ages. They use poetry, calligraphy and painting to express their understanding and cognition of nature and their thoughts and feelings arising therefrom.Chinese landscape paintings reflect the literati’s longing for nature, and they create on paper a spiritual world where they can travel and live freely. It is the combination of the literati’s thoughts, the images and the concepts, and their creations that express the sentiments of the literati to the nature. In ancient Chinese painting theory, the relationship between natural objects and human thoughts and emotions is summarized as " Artistic creation comes from learning from nature, but the beauty of nature cannot automatically become the beauty of art.For this process of transformation, the artist’s inner feelings and composition are indispensable".Ancient painters regarded it as the principle of painting, which shows that in ancient China, people have been aware of the importance of the inner connection between human feelings and all things in nature, and have been observing and advocating it.In the creation of Chinese landscape painting, artists must inherit the tradition and learn the brush and ink techniques and the spirit of the ancients in order to "learn from nature and learn from heart".At the same time, they should take the nature as the teacher to get the images, and internalize the obtained images in their mind, summarize and integrate them through the subjective spirit, and paint it on the paper,so as to show their inner perception of the nature.Dai Benxiao,an artist at the end of Ming dynasty and the beginning of qing dynasty and an important member of the "Xin’an Painting School",was an important representative like Shi Tao who advocated the cultivating and imitating nature. His artistic thought about the six principles and learning from the nature is even more unique. It means that the painting techniques should inherit the tradition that the artists learn from the ancients, while the ancients learn from nature. He emphasized taking the nature as a teacher, and at the same time paying attention to the expression of their own true feelings. In fact,he tells the world that painting should accurately express the artists’ feelings of nature through appropriate language.Dai Benxiao expressed his understanding of the concept of nature through the accurate presentation of objects, brushwork and artistic conception in his landscape paintings. In the landscape paintings of Dai Benxiao, painting techniques like dry brush and thirsty ink are used to express the natural scenery. The creation of the unique artistic conception is the important embodiment of his view of nature. At the same time, there are two reasons for the formation of Dai Benxiao’s view of nature. He always abided by the concept of "learning from nature" and practiced himself all his life.He spent a lot of time traveling in mountains and rivers and making friends with people. He constantly verified and deeply explored the principles of painting, gradually formed his own view of art,and finally became a famous painter in the history of Chinese painting.Second,he has been influenced by Laozi and Zhuangzi’s thoughts since childhood, which makes his view of nature more unique.Inspired by him,in the creation of "striking Wulian" series landscape paintings for her graduation, the author of this paper learned from the natural scenery of Wulian Mountain. In the use of techniques, she learns from Dai Benxiao.Dai Benxiao’s haze style in his paintings is borrowed in expressing the "Wulian Scenery" in her paintings.Through the creation of natural images and artistic conceptions, applying painting principles and painting techniques, she hopes to present a quiet and elegant image in her paintings. While "learning from the ancients" and "learning from the nature",her works pay more attention to "the artist oneself".In the process of comprehending the changes of nature, the author of this paper gradually formed her own painting style. Her works aim to convey the concepts of "harmony between man and nature" and "interaction between heaven and earth and man".
