On The Three-dimensional Artistic Tension Of Xiao Hong's Novels

As an exceptional woman writer who has literary talent in the history of Chinese contemporary literature,Xiao Hong deeply engraved her name on the milestone of literary history by virtue of her outstanding creative talent,literary vitality and legendary tragic fate.The reason why Xiao Hong was connotative is that she had groundbreaking artistic temperament,rich thoughts and feelings and unique artistic charm.In addition,this paper argues that it has a “tension”in Xiao Hong's novels.They have deepened the ideological depth of Xiao Hong's novels in the course of conflicts and urged Xiao Hong to examine the living state of the people in China from a female,intellectual and low-level perspective,and unconsciously transfer it into a kind of life energy in literary creation,which constitutes the uniqueness of her novel creation form.The introduction explains and sorts out the development and evolution of "tension",which as a term of literary criticism.Anglo-American New Critici puts the concept of "tension" into the category of poetry criticism for the first time,and then it was widely used in the field of literary criticism."Tension" is not a concept proposed by Chinese theorists,but it has already been involved in ancient literary theory,so the introduction is mainly to integrate the concept of "tension" in Chinese and western literary theory.The text is divided into three chapters,discussing the artistic tension of Xiao Hong's novels from three typical dimensions:the first chapter intends to write the tension of characters.Xiao Hong described the characters from two aspects of positive and negative.It is manifested as the sawing of the ignorant consciousness and primitive vitality,the deconstruction and construction of the self-consciousness of female image and the inner and outer squeeze of the survival dilemma of the bottom characters.These character features are gathered in the same character in the way of winding and opposites,carrying rich ideological connotations.The second chapter analyzes the narrative tension of Xiao Hong's novels.It discusses the rural world under the opposition of the children's perspective and the adultperspective.The author utilized the children's perspective which is simple and straightforward to expose the bitterness and hypocrisy of the adult world.Then she discusses from the perspective of adults.The blend of the two perspectives complements each other in expressing self-emotion.In addition,the contrast between the fractured plots also makes the narration full of charm.In the seemingly independent and disorderly plot arrangement,the writer's creative intention has internal reference and contrast,the social significance of things and the fate of characters have been more three-dimensional expression.In another hand,the mutual infiltration between tender words and desperate lamentation is also a typical feature of Xiao Hong's literary world.When the warm and light style meets the mournful and miserable melody,the writer's textual pursuit has been more clearly demonstrated in the lyric of "laughter with deep pain".The third chapter discusses the discourse collision between multiple themes.It analyzes the expression of the themes which are antithetic and unified in the text from the perspectives of the conflict between the civil position and the left-wing discourse,the critique of the national character and the homesickness and the dialectical expression of the author's enlightenment thoughts.This paper attempts to deepen the understanding of Xiao Hong's literary world through the introduction of the concept of "tension",and analyzes her unique features in the history of literature.
