With the rapid development of Internet games, the problem of excessive use of online games has become increasingly prominent.Excessive use of online games has become one of the important network usage features for teenagers.Previous studies have found that the inhibition control function of the online game addiction group and the resting state EEG activity are abnormal due to the excessive use of online games, but there is little research on the group of excessive users but not addicted. Therefore, this study explores the inhibition control of the over-the-player of online games and the characteristics of resting EEG through the classic color-word Stroop task and the resting state EEG method, compared with those who do not play online games at all.The results show that the response time, correct rate and Stroop effect of mobile online game users are not significantly different from the control group, indicating that excessive use of mobile online games does not affect the inhibition control ability, which is different from the findings of the online game addiction. The resting EEG results show that the excessive use of mobile online games will affect the EEG power of the following bands of individual resting EEG,specifically the alpha low frequency band,beta2 and gamma in the closed eye state, and the blinking state. The beta1 band. The low-frequency alpha power of mobile network game users is significantly reduced, indicating that the attention control ability of over-use mobile network players is declining;the increase of beta2 wave power indicates the alertness of over-use of online gamers;the decline of beta1 wave power indicates excessive The user’s sensitivity to new stimuli is reduced;a significant increase in gamma wave power indicates that over-use of online games has improved their sensory processing capabilities.Significant changes in low individual alpha,beta2,beta1,and gamma power in the resting state of mobile online game users can be used as unique neurological markers for overuse of mobile online games, helping us to effectively distinguish between online game users and addiction. At the same time,it provides a theoretical basis for preventing overuse and developing into online game addiction and formulating more perfect online game addiction evaluation criteria. It also helps to understand the neural mechanism of online game addiction more fully.
