Analysis Of The Symbolic Expression Of Geometric Form Language In Oil Painting Works

The use of symbols can be traced back to the beginning of human life.From being a "sign",it develops to an independent discipline,then the symbols gradually begin to have many functions such as the interpretation,communication,and reference,where also contains its functional role in the artistic creation.Everything in the world is composed of the geometric shapes.The way to use the geometric figures to describe the objective things in paintings had appeared in the primitive society.At that time,they used geometrical modeling to draw a lot of animals that appeared in life.In the pottery of the Hemudu period in ancient China,the geometric patterns composed of the dots and arcs can also be found.Although the geometrical painting method is simple,it is the best way to convey and record the tribal emotions.With the progress of the society,the art forms are constantly diversified,and the geometric language in painting has been greatly developed as a classic expression.When the symbol is symbolized,it becomes the spiritual symbolic language which can be understood by the public.In the creation of the oil painting,the symbolization of the geometric language makes the picture of the work have a unique expressive power,which plays a very important role in the depiction and presentation of the picture.American contemporary artist David Fraser used a large number of geometric graphic elements in his paintings.He had unique insights into the symbolization of the geometric formal language.He always insisted on a unique personal language when he created,and finally formed a unique representative personal symbol.By taking David Frazer as an example,this paper aims to analyze the symbolic representation of the geometric formal language in the oil paintings.The article is divided into three chapters: The first chapter is divided into three sections,which respectively explain how the symbolic geometric language of David Fraser is established;The characteristics and the artistic features of the geometrical language symbolization in oil painting are made,so that the reader can make a preliminary understanding of the symbolization of the formal languages.The second chapter is divided into three sections.Through the concrete analysis of David Frazer’s oil paintings,from the artistic language,the overall performance of the picture,and the details of the picture,the geometric form language and symbolic expression in his paintings areexplored.The third chapter is divided into two sections.It mainly discusses the status quo and thinking of the symbolization of the geometric forms in contemporary oil painting creation,and discusses its future development direction and expansion methods.
