Military is an important aspect that affects a country's strength and weakness, and also reflects the country's foreign politics. As a key factor in military equipment, weapon reflects a country's productivity to a certain extent. As an important political, economic and military area, weapons of Changan's represented to some extent the development of weapons in the Han Dynasty, and a large number of weapons were buried in the tombs of the Han Dynasty in Changan's region, but there was no comprehensive and systematic study of them at present. Therefore, this paper tries to carry out this research in order to promote the Han Dynasty weapon research. The first part of the article is the introduction, which expounds the origin and significance of the topic, summarizes the present situation and deficiency of the weapon research in the Han Dynasty, and explains the ideas, methods and scope of the research. In the second part of the article, the weapons unearthed in Han Dynasty tombs in Chang'an are sorted out,and the types of weapons in Han Dynasty are classified by typology and statistics. On the basis of typology, the third part divides the weapons of burial in Han Dynasty into seven stages and four periods:the first period is the early Western Han Dynasty, the second period is the middle and late Western Han Dynasty, the third period is the Wang Mang period, and the fourth period is the Eastern Han Dynasty period. And the author sums up the law of development in weapons. In the forth part, the author uses the statistical analysis method to arrange 90 undisturbed tombs with weapons types and weapon combinations on the basis of stages.Weapons combinations and types of weapons for burial are not fixed. In the second phase of tombs, there are more combinations and types of weapons, with a sword in the main,a coffin and a sword in general. The main weapon combination is a crossbow and sword. The types of weapons in the third period of interment are reduced compared with those in the middle and late Western Han Dynasty, and the single burial knife is the most important mode of the weapons, and the proportion of crossbows is still large. As a whole, the number of weapons in the third period of the interment is lower than that in the later period of the Western Han Dynasty. Most of the weapons for burial are fighting weapons, sword, crossbow, sword, and sword are the most important weapons for burial, and the armour weapons are less, and should be related to the identity of the owner of the tomb. The fifth part is the analysis of related problems. The author analyzes the phenomenon of weapon for the dead in Han Dynasty, and tries to explain the reasons. For the social stability, most of the weapons are articles to be for the dead in high tombs;and the medium and small tombs may be related to their own financial resources and so on.And there is also a certain correlation between the graveyard level and the types of weapons to be buried. The Yue,which symbolizes the command power,is the emperor or general who is qualified to be buried. The owner of halberd, food, beryllium, etc.in the tombs should be have an medium and high status, especially for officers in army.Crossbow, knives, swords can be buried from the emperor to small and medium landlords, and even civilians. With regard to the placement of weapons for burial, through the statistical analysis of the positions of weapons in 65 undisturbed tombs,it is concluded that the positions of weapons placed in the Han Dynasty as a whole have not changed much, such as copper and iron weapons, especially knives. As the carry-on of the tomb owner, the sword is mostly placed beside the skeleton of the coffin,in which the left sword, the right knife and the right sword should be related to the custom of wearing in the Han Dynasty. The last part summarizes the full text, and points out the deficiency of this paper and the future research direction.
