A Study On The Myth Of Dayu

Flood myth is a popular myth in all parts of the world.Dayu mythology is a flood myth in China.As one of the ancient myths in our country,its content is very rich and widely spread.The study of Dayu mythology began in the 90 s of last century.Scholars started their research from all aspects such as history,culture,mythology,folklore,anthropology,archaeology and so on.The research directions are different and the conclusions are quite different.Based on myths,folklore and anthropology,this thesis studies the myth of Dayu with reference to the research of Therop's story,and tries to find out the historical and socio-cultural roots of myth generation and development through elemental analysis.The thesis is divided into the following five chapters.Our country does not have the special book that records the myth,the ancient myth is widely seen in the ancient books,so the study of Dayu myth starts with the document collating.Handed-down documents from The Book of Songs,ShangShu and other scriptures,to the historical records,Annals Of Wu And Yue and other historical books,The Classic of the Great Wilderness,Huainan Zi and other documents,and then to ChuCi as part of literature,there are records of the myth of yu.Unearthed documents such as The Warring States Chu Bamboo Slips Book,also have a small amount of records.Secondly,according to the method of motif classification,we divide the myth of Dayu into a small motif,and find out the elements contained in the myth of Yu as much as possible,and classify these elements roughly into categories such as floods,related figures,treasures of harnessing the flood and flood control.There are seventy or eighty story elements in Dayu mythologys,one of the most important elements of water,gun and Yu,TuShan,YouShen,bear,dragon and so on.Finally,the important elements will be analyzed to clarify the historical origin of the elements and the reasons for the development and changes.Water is one of the most important element in the myth of yu.The flood originates from the collective consciousness of the people to the water.Water is closely related to life.The worship of water is the unremitting pursuit of life.The deformation myth of Gun and Yu transferring into bear is an important part of Dayu mythology.The worship of the bear is derived from the worship of reproduction.The bear is considered to be a goddess of birth because of hibernation.Dragon totem originated from bear totem,and became a symbol of the Chinese nation in the process of development and evolution.The marriage of Yu and Tu Shan reflected the evolution of the ancient marriage system.The process of managing the water in the mythology of Dayu is a process of continuous struggle,showing the spirit of the Chinese nation to struggle bravely.The first chapter: the myth of Yu literature.The documents are divided into the passing documents and the unearthed documents,and the documents are arranged in the order of the classics,histories,sons and collections.
