It was mentioned in Color Geography(La Geographe de La Couleur)originally created by the famous French chromatist Professor Jean Philippe Lenclos that:based on geography,through peculiar color phenomenon in different geographical locations,different geographical environment directly affects the formation and development of the mankind,human race,customs,culture,etc.These factors all result in different color performance.Every place has its own cultural and regional colors,for example,the color difference between southern Europe and Northern Europe where everyone has different habits in life reflected by the climate,in clothes colors and in road construction.Influenced by geographical factors and foreign cultures,the color culture between the north and south of China appears totally different,but in each of the regional color culture,each place has its own research for color,which directly affect the whole architecture and even life details of people’s clothing,food,shelter and transportation,and the charm of regional color is thus reflected.Arriving in the 15th century,the Portuguese lived alongside the Macau for over 400 years.The mixing of the two societies created a unique culture,influencing myriad aspects from religion to architecture to everyday life.In Macao,the development of visual culture has been extremely vibrant for many years.This research of the thesis focuses on the collision and communication between the traditional Chinese color culture and the western and Southeast Asian color culture in Macao.From the comparison of colors between George Chinnery and Masi Anno,it is clearly seen that there are particularly different regional cultures in their adoption of colors and aesthetical standards.So in the 20th Century,most artists preferred urban color until the mid and late period of the 20th Century when the color of Luis Luciano Demee influenced on and enlightened the current painting art.Until now,in the situation that the casino in Macao is shouldering the economy of the whole city,the change of colors is our biggest concern and we are making efforts in its development.Although the society has been in continuous development,the change of colors cannot be beyond the development of local culture.
