A Grammatical Study Of The Frame Structure Of Chinese Parallel Relations

In modern Chinese,there are a lot of parallel complex sentences connected by“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”and“yi lai(??)…er lai(??)…”.On the basis of the theory of grammaticalization,this paper makes a systematic and systematic study of the frame structure of the three tables,which are tied together in the form of grammaticalization.Besides the introduction,there are four chapters in this paper,I will make a comparative analysis of their grammaticalization process and the motivation of grammaticalization evolution about“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”and“yi lai(??)…er lai(??)…”.The introduction part mainly explains the significance of topic selection,the current research situation and the definition of frame structure about the parallel relationship of Chinese,and the sources of corpus.The last part is the summary of the whole paper.The first chapter is the grammaticalization of“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”.After detailed description of structural evolution in Pre-Qin,Song,Yuan,Ming and Qing Dynasties and modern times,we can find that“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”.We did not find the relevant records in the early literature.The earliest appearance was in the literature of the Northern Song Dynasty,but it hasn't solidified yet,mostly"yi bian(??)"alone,it means the surrounding part of an object or some aspects.They did not appear until the Ming Dynasty and basically fixed in the Qing Dynasty.On the basis of full analysis of the corpus and by analyzing the motivation of grammaticalization,we can find that the from verb"bian(?)"to"yi bian(??)"and then to the form of“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”,the frequency of the use of language,the structure of sentence,the pragmatic environment and the semantic expression play a very great role in the long process of grammaticalization.The second chapter is the grammaticalization of“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”.First of all,according to the development of the track to comb the“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”in each period,we can find that the most used is the classifier in the early literature.The earliest use of the frame structure was in the Northern Song Dynasty.Until the Ming Dynasty,“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”has already appeared in a large number,and basically fixed in the Qing Dynasty.In the Republic of China until now,the use cases are more common.From the semantic and pragmatic aspects,we analyzed the motivation mechanism of the grammaticalization of“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”and combined the theoretical knowledge of cognitive linguistics to analyze the internal and external reasons of the language.Finally,making a summary of“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”,the process characteristics of grammaticalization and the reasons for the change are explained.And pointing out the problems needing attention in the research of such frame structures.The third chapter is the grammaticalization of“yi lai(??)…er lai(??)…”.This structure first appeared in the literature of the Southern Song Dynasty,but its corpus was deficient.In the literature of Yuan Dynasty,112 of the 164 related cases appear in the use of sentences,especially in the Yuan Dynasty's dramas and Sanqu,but they are not all about the relationship of juxtaposition,nor have they solidified.In the MingDynasty,there were 310 documents about the box structure of table parallel relation is more common,and the use case is more common in Qing Dynasty.On the basis of careful analysis of the corpus,we can see that the grammaticalization motivation mechanism about“yilai(??)…erlai(??)…”is analyzed,and the grammaticalization motivation of the frame structure is discussed in several aspects of sentence structure,semantic expression and cognitive law,combining cognitive linguistics and other knowledge.Finally,making a summary of“yi lai(??)…er lai(??)…”,the process characteristics of grammaticalization and the reasons for the change are explained.The fourth chapter,a comparative analysis of several frame structure about the parallel relationship of Chinese.This chapter summarizes the basic conclusions of this study,and compares the three framed structures.From the grammaticalization track of them,we can find that in the early literature such frame structure appeared very few until to the Northern Song Dynasty began to appear more in the literature.After the Ming Dynasty there are a large number of using and in the Qing Dynasty began to become a fixed frame structure in the literature generally appeared.We examined and analyzied the syntactic and semantic relation of the sentence about“yi bian(??)…yi bian(??)…”“yi mian(??)…yi mian(??)…”and“yi lai(??)…er lai(??)…”and the relation of the parallel compound sentence which is connected by them.By comparing the similarities and differences of the semantic expression and the pragmatic environment with the cognitive linguistics and the constructional grammar theory when can use it to be interchangeable or not.At last,we concluded that the grammaticalization characteristics,mechanisms and motivations of such frame structures are different from those of other researches.
