This paper chooses the responder "That goes without saying" as the research object.It is different from monosyllabic word response.In the long term use,it has formed a relatively fixed format.Each component is irreplaceable.It has coagulability and strong subjectivity.To sum up,"That goes without saying" has a certain value of research.The first part of the "That goes without saying" the main components "that" and"also" to do a detailed analysis,"that" is refers to the dual role of generation and connection,the virtual tendency is obvious;"also" has the expected subjectivity,there is deficiency tendency;which strengthens the "That goes without saying".In addition,related variations are also taken into account.They are changed by means of substitution,deletion and addition on the basis of the original form.The second part examines the "That goes without saying" in the actual situation.The first of its response in sentence,sentence and sentence final distribution;then the sentence is divided into query class interrogative sentences,imperative sentences,that kind of ask questions and statements or exclamatory sentences in four categories;finally analyzes the following sentence,according to the classification is caused by sentence whether there is doubt "That goes without saying" in the question answer,questions related to not only the value,is also related to psychological expectations.The third part focuses on the discourse function analysis of "that still use".As a response language,It has the function of approval,acceptance,confirmation and expression in different contexts."Why" also has an effect on the topic of the development,it can on the topic of emphasis,turning,propulsion,make-up and end.
