Teaching materials play an important role in teaching, and it is very important to write and select Chinese teaching materials in the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.A good foreign language teaching material can help foreign students to acquire language and cultural knowledge efficiently, and promote students to learn Chinese independently.Among them, the order of the grammatical items in teaching materials affects the students' ability to master the grammatical knowledge. This paper chooses the adverb "zai" and "you" which are easily confused by international students, combining with Intensive Elementary Chinese Course A Comprehensive Book,New Practical Chinese Reader(Second Edition),Ten Level Chinese,Chinese Course and Road To Success of five different sets of Chinese textbooks to have an analysis. This paper mainly includes two aspects, one is the definition of "zai" and "you" with detailed list of the meanings in textbooks, finding that there are problems in the arrangement of meanings which is incomplete in teaching materials and different teaching materials have different meanings;the other is the order of "zai" and "you" in textbooks with exhaustive search of texts in the teaching materials and introduction examples in the exercises, finding that there are problems in the order of meanings and introduction examples which are different, and teaching materials are arranged in a different order.Considering the imperfections of the adverb "zai" and "you" in teaching materials and the inconsistency of the order,in the end,the paper analyzed some questions such as how to set up meanings and orders. This paper considers that the usage frequency should be considered in the setting of the meanings while in the orders, the idea is to follow the writer Gao Shunquan(2012)—follow the grammatical order of the meanings for learners' acquisition order is often in accordance with the grammatical order of words. At the same time, this paper makes exhaustive analysis of all the introduction examples of "zai" and "you" in the five sets of textbooks, finding that the use of meanings in the introduction examples of "zai" and "you" is related to the using rate of the meaning of the item. However the order of the meanings is basically in line with the order of our proposal, which needs further study.
