Xu Beihong's Realism Art Education Thought And Its Contemporary Significance

As western culture ideas flowed into China in the late 19th century and early 20th century,traditional Chinese culture was challenged and China’s Art development was influenced.Xu Beihong,a famous art educator in China,showed his realistic thought in Art education.Part of his theory concerning realistic art education stays alive until now.Therefore,this paper aims at exploring and summarizing the unique value of Xu Beihong’s theory and realistic art education.This study consists of four parts.The first two parts are the analysis and research on the basis and specific content of Xu Beihong’s realistic art education thought theory.In a word,its focus generally can be thought of as an sketch-based activity.The latter two parts generally analyze and discuss Xu beihong’s realistic art education thought.The key two parts analyze and narrate the contradictions arising from Xu Beihong’s theory of realistic art education in practice,and summarize the impact of realistic art education on the Chinese painting and Chinese oil painting and the positive influence and inspiration on modern and contemporary art.On the other hand,they analyze the role played by Xu Beihong’s art education in the development of contemporary art education,including the impact on higher education,some meaningful inspirations for primary and secondary education,and analyze the core of art of his painting artwork.Finally,this paper further explores and summarizes the contemporary significance of Xu Beihong’s realistic art education thought.
