A New Chapter In The Family Narrative

Family narration has always favored writers for its rich connotation.The family narrative peaked in the 1990s,and many family novels spewed out,such as Mo Yan’s "The Red Sorghum Family" and Chen Zhongshi’s "White Deer Plains".Under Mo Yan and other first-rate male writers,the narrative of family history was "father." In order to focus on writing,it mainly describes the success or failure of the "great-father-father-son" blood chain,and the "matrix"(female)in the family is the supporting role of the male and is a supporting role in the family story.In the upsurge of family novel creation in the 1990s,women writers"turned into the world" and created a number of unique family novels,such as Zhao Mei’s Women of Our Family,Wang Anyi’s "Documentation and Fiction," and Jiang.Rhyme’s"Prisoner of the Banyan Tree",Tie Ning’s"The Door of Rose",Xu Xiaobin’s "The Feathered Snake",Zhong Ziyan’s "One Hundred Years of Marriage",Xiang Xiaomi’s "Silence of a Hero",Zhang Jie’s "No Word",Xie Cai Xia’s "Marriage on the Shore" etc.These works focus on the history of "matrix" and become a new chapter in the family narrative.This article takes the family novels of Tie Ning,Zhang Jie,Wang Anyi,Xu Xiaobin,Jiang Yun,Zhao Mei,Xiang Xiaomi,Xie Caixia,and Zhong Wuyan as female writers to explore the writing of"matriarchal history" in their family novels.These women writers write "matriarchal history" based on the blood of "(foreign)grandmother-mother-daughter",which is different from the writing of "paternity history" in traditional family novels.The protagonists in the family stories they write are all women.Women are no longer in the passive object position,but they are the subjects of the family.The male figure is in a subordinate position in the family.Compared to the rich and complex female image,the male figure appears monotonous.The female writer has created a number of vivid female images unprecedented in the history of literature,subverted the monotonous feminine image of the non-sheng dynasty of male writers,and restored the true face of women in history.One by one,the women covered by history fogged away.The cloud slowly came to us.The female writer constructs the "motherhood history" in the family novels,while shaping the female image,but also does not forget the care of individual females.They are actively watching the fate of one female individual in the "matrix family" with their own female consciousness.The men in the text showed a weak tendency,and the responsibility of the family shifted to women.They showed unprecedented strength and tenacity.However,under the reality that the men’s culture still dominates,women still face various pressures.They suffered the fate of suffering and interpreted a sad life.The "maternal family novel" also presents a unique narrative style.Female writer generally adopts the narrative perspective of writer,narrator and protagonist,which is conducive to the writer’s expression of women’s true inner experience,and also makes this series of "matriline family novels" bring autobiographical colors.Because women are more sensible than men,their narrative discourse has the feature of "monologue".Female writers are not very concerned about the success or failure of the family as a whole,and they are more concerned about women’s hearts.The establishment of the "(foreign)grandmother-mother-daughter" blood chain led to this batch of "maternal family novels"showing a "female supreme" writing posture,women replacing men as masters of the family,female writers subverting fatherhood,and Women pushed from behind the scenes to the front desk.The writing of the patriarchal novels on the "motherhood history" on the one hand played down or even subverted the "patriarchal history" in the male family narrative.On the other hand,it also established and strengthened the status of women in history.
