The Exegetical Study Of Shao Jinhan's "Erya Justice"

Er Ya Zheng Yi is the first commentary on Er Ya in the traditional exegesis way in Qing Dynasty.In the process of writing the book,Shao Jinhan is in the basis of Guo Pu's Er Ya Zhu,and use many opinion from other scholars.He insists on combining empirical and scientific method,and learn widely from others' points.To some extent,it reflects the popular exegetical theory and feature among scholars in Qing Dynasty.Therefore,by studying the Er Ya Zheng Yi,we can learn lots of things,and can let us have a understanding about the exegetical method and theory.About the exegetical content of Er Ya Zheng Yi,which includes explanation about article meaning,words and laws,customs,culture,institutions and so on,emendation about words and sentences.Among them,this paper explain article meaning from words and sentences aspects,collate scripts from correction of mistakes of texts,supplementary of the missing words,collation of redundant and different,and annotate Guo Pu's Er Ya from supplement and correction aspects.About the exegetical terms of Er Ya Zheng Yi,which divided into three categories,among them,there are 17 terms of explanation on the meaning,there are 10 terms of phonetic notation,and there are 14 terms of emendation.About the exegetical method of Er Ya Zheng Yi,which included three methods,those are shengxun,yixun,and refer to the classic.In short,Shao Jinhan adopt the method of xingxun rarely,but adopt the method of shengxun,yixun,and refer to the classic more frequently.The achievements and value of the Er Ya Zheng Yi is mainly manifested in the following aspects:Firstly,Shao Jinhan respect but not stick to keep the old annotation.On the basis of respect for Guo Pu's Er Ya,Shao Jinhan put forward his own views.Secondly,Shao Jinhan persist in seeking truth from facts,and he pays attention to practice.Thirdly,Er Ya Zheng Yi reflect the development of language history.Fourthly,Shao Jinhan adhere to the empirical combined with scientific method.Fifthly,Er Ya Zheng Yi create a new situation of the study on Er Ya in the Qing dynasty.Due to the age and the author's limit of personal knowledge,Er Ya Zheng Yi still have some defects.For example,Shao Jinhan failed to collect more materials,and,in general,he also believed in Guo Pu's Er Ya.In addition,since the era of Shao Jinhan live,the ancient phonology was still Immaturity.Therefore,Er Ya Zheng Yi has some mistakes.But on the whole,Er Ya Zheng Yi made extraordinary achievements,and many scholars can benefit from it.
